Petronella Chigara - Dhitima

Petronella is the Managing Director of Mustard Seed a consulting firm that was born out of MS Consulting (UK) which was set up in 2011. She is a microfinance expert with more than 21 years of experience in 14 African countries and other developing countries in Asia and Latin America. She has managed bank downscaling programs in Zimbabwe and Tanzania, set up commercial green field microfinance operations in Ghana and provided technical assistance to Accion partners in West Africa. She is an expert in organizational development, human talent development, market research and product development for low income households. Petronella serves as the ITCILO MMW Master Trainer responsible for trainer certification, is a certified SMART Assessor and certified CGAP trainer. She has taught at the Boulder Microfinance Training Program for the past 13 years. She is an Associate of MFO. Petronella has a BBS (Hons) degree from University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Business Administration from University of Liverpool.

Tawanda Sibanda

Tawanda is a Senior Associate leading the credit, market research and product development services of MSC. He has over 19 years experience both as practitioner and technical services provider in the development finance arena. His main areas of professional experience include strategic planning, fostering SME linkages to finance and other business development services, program evaluations, operations management, audits, institutional assessments, research, product development, reviewing of regulatory frameworks as well as rating of microfinance institutions. He has worked in several Southern, East and West African countries. He holds a MBA degree with Milpark Business School in South Africa and an honors degree in Economics (University of Zimbabwe).

Sibongile Sibanda

Sibongile Sibanda, a Senior Associate responsible for client training and people development programs in Mustard Seed has 18 years of experience in more than 13 countries in Africa and Asia.She has grown in the training field to becoming one of the senior trainers who coach and train Master Trainers in SIYB. She is responsible for designing and implementing training programs for low income clients as well as for staff and managers of microfinance institutions. Sibongile has worked with a number of development partners in developing their capacity on enterprise development service delivery including Hand in Hand Southern Africa, an NGO implementing the Coca Cola Company 5by20 initiative in South Africa and the DAI’s agricultural development project in Zimbabwe responsible for leadership, strategic planning and governance development (LEAD Project).

Lynn Moyo

Lynn is responsible for marketing, branding and relationship building in MSC and has over 17 years of working with various institutions developing viable small business products, promoting entrepreneurship and as brand ambassador for various institutions serving both rural and urban areas. Having worked as a Product Development and Marketing Manager during MicroKing’s early days, Lynn’s expertise in market research, product development and marketing have been sharpened over the years. She has also undertaken consulting work in other countries including Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, with her most recent post being a Customer Marketing Specialist specializing in individual and consumer lending for the Bank of America. Lynn holds a BA (Hons) in Technology in Business Management with University of Zimbabwe and a Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators (CIS). She is currently studying Masters in Business Management with Management College of Southern Africa. She is also a certified trainer with the International Training Centre of the ILO.

Mandas Marikanda

Mandas Marikanda is a Senior Associate with Mustard Seed, focusing on financial inclusion for excluded communities such as rural population and disadvantaged groups including women. She has more than 19 years’ experience designing innovative financial interventions such as group savings andlending initiatives in rural Zimbabwe. Prior to joining the MSC team, Mandas was Managing Director for PundutsoMicrofinance (a World Vision partner) and as part of the World Vision fraternity, she undertook various assignments in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia.Mandas is currently a Doctoral Candidate with Calvary University UK. Her study focuses on Microfinance. She is a holder of an MBA with Eastern University of USA and an HRUP (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe. She speaks English & Shona and has limited understanding of Ndebele and Portuguese.

Timothy Sitambuli

Timothy Sitambuli is the newest member of MSC and has over 8 years experience spanning in microfinance and banking in Zimbabwe and Nigeria. Recently he has been consulting for a leading microfinance institution in Zimbabwe which is diversifying into group lending to augment their consumer finance business. He has also served as a UN technical expert at African Management Services Company, under a UNDP project where he was involved in management capacity building, business processes and systems optimization and turnaround strategies for a microfinance bank in Nigeria. He has worked as Accountant/ Finance Manager at MicroKing, the microfinance subsidiary of AfrAsia bank. He spearheaded projects for revitalizing incomes of low income farmers and agro traders through partnerships with Mercy Corps and IRD Zimbabwe.

Shalom Hungwe

Shalom Hungwe is a trainer with MSC and has excellent administrative and organizational skills. She has been with MSC for more than a year and has developed training materials, conducted training sessions and organized international courses such as the ITCILO training hosted at Mandel in February and April 2014. Shalom is also the Office Manager at MS Consulting. She is responsible for managing the payment schedule for creditors and debtors, general bookkeeping and attending to queries via telephone or email.
